According to a advert in the latest Doctor Who Comic Supergirl is to get a CE with Batgirl as a back-up.

Interesting. I'm surprised DC haven't launched a new Supergirl series at the moment too, but maybe they're waiting for a good idea, or to see if the series gets a second season. Though it just got given another 7 episodes, so chances are good.

Hi folks!
First post here.
I was disappointed to learn of the cancellation of this title. I'm not entirely sure if Titan knows what they are doing. Someone claimed it was a mini-series, but it was never advertised as such (nor was Green Arrow).
I feel Titan puts too many eggs in one basket. Panini does, but in a good way. They know how to market and sell their CEs. Titan, on the other hand, seem to relaunch/reboot CEs on a regular basis; CEs may disappear for a time, only to return; and Titan does not update its website at all. Sometimes we are left to play guessing games. When is the next issue of a CE out? Has a CE been cancelled? Has a CE gone bimonthly? We aren't kept informed like we should be.
I want Titan to succeed, but there is a real contrast between how they do things and how Panini do things with their Marvel CEs. The Marvel CEs have had a steady hand or two on them for years. They keep their readers informed. And they market the CEs very well. Titan almost seems to treat their CEs like an afterthought. It gives me no pleasure to say that.
It seems to be a mentality over there right now. Their Star Trek Magazine is the same. The last issue was released in October 2015. It is now April and a new one will be out next week. Did they officially switch to a quarterly frequency? I thought they were bi-monthly. If you e-mail Titan, or ask a question on Facebook, or even write a letter (as I did), you don't get any responses.
Anyway, sorry for the negativity. I really want DC to succeed on these shores. It just seemed so much better years ago (it was!) when Egmont/London Editions Magazines/Fleetway had the licence. And I felt Panini did a good job from 2003 until 2006 when they published Batman Legends. I feel they served DC reprint titles far better than Titan have.

You're spot-on, Justice League:Trinity comes out 3 weeks after the release date on the next issue page and then it's a lottery if I'll even find a copy. Their most consistent title is Batman and they stopped delivering that to my local WHSmiths for no reason last year!

It's the whole "lottery" aspect that I dislike.
Someone defended Titan to me, saying they have a lot of CEs to publish. So do Panini. One of the Panini editors also edits the graphic novel range (or used to). Somehow Panini manage to communicate with their readers, update their website and be consistent.
Titan are none of those. I tried e-mailing them (no reply), I even sent a letter (no reply) and a Facebook post was ignored. Their website often updates late and there's no consistency. It almost feels like their CE range is an afterthought, I'm afraid. It goes back to 2006 when they 'took' the DC CE licence from Panini, who did a far better job with their version of Batman Legends. The contrast between the Panini CEs and the Titan CEs is astonishing.
It's little things, too. I tried e-mailing the Green Arrow title letters page when it came out. E-mail bounced back. Wrong "next sale" dates in at least two recent issues. And absolutely zero communications from Titan. I've had to inform people of the cancellation of the Supergirl CE, many still don't know. If the Titan CEs had a Twitter account, a simple "Sorry, the Supergirl CE has been cancelled" would suffice. Or a Facebook post.
The Titan CEs feel, like I said, like an afterthought. Whilst someone (maybe) wants to keep all the DC UK stuff under one roof, maybe Titan should stick to trade paperbacks/magazines and the DC CEs should go to some other licensee.

I'm guessing DC Legends Wonder Woman might not be continuing either as todays issue has no next issue page.

Yes, most disconcerting.
I don't know how true it is, but according to some Facebook friends, Titan has commented and stated that some CEs, like the Green Arrow and Supergirl one, were only mini-series. If they did say that, they are not being honest. At no time were the Arrow, Supergirl or Wonder Woman CEs marketed as mini-series. If Titan have said that, they are not being honest. Plus, if they were meant to be mini-series, why did they answer questions about plans for their titles in the letters pages? It's bull.
Perhaps instead of this scattergun approach, Titan should perhaps do some more one-off specials for the likes of Arrow, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, etc. Again, take the lead from Panini. Panini worked hard over the years to market and build up existing titles. Way back in, say, 1999, there were only four CEs on the shelves (Astonishing Spider-Man, Essential X-Men, Wolverine Unleashed and Marvel Heroes Reborn). Panini worked hard to build up a "brand identity" and within years, built on that with additional titles. They also knew how to market and "cross-pollinate" and sell their CEs as something part of a greater whole, if that makes sense.
The Titan CEs just seem like a random bunch of titles, no more than an afterthought done by someone in the Titan offices with five minutes to spare. Their scattergun approach isn't working. I understand setting up a CE to capitalize on a movie (i.e. the Wonder Woman CE due to her appearance in BvS), but it isn't always wise. I feel that if Ambush Bug or Krypto appeared in a DC movie tomorrow, Titan would rush out a CE. Slow down, Titan!

Just read last week's Batman. They printed a "one-off story" from Legends of the Dark Knight, except it ended on a cliffhanger and they won't be printing the next part in the next issue. This story had no relevance to the other 2 stories and they won't even print the conclusion. They desperately need new Editors on par with Scott and Brady *the Panini editors.)

We need to stop being kind and start being honest with our words: Titan's CEs are a joke.
Scott and Brady are from a different world. I can't think of many mistakes the Panini CEs have made. If there have been any, they are few and far between. It's obvious to me, after almost ten years, that the Titan CEs are an afterthought, they are probably edited by some teaboy called from his duties by Titan executives. There cannot be a steady hand on them to make the mistakes you described.
They appear to be clueless. There is little-to-no consistency in anything they do. Remember when they launched their version of Batman Legends back in 2006? They started reprinting All-Star Batman...despite the fact it was plagued with delays and hadn't yet finished its run in the US. Decent editors would have been on top of that. I know Panini "jumped the gun" with JLA/Avengers many moons ago and it had to go on hiatus for a while, but Panini make very few mistakes. Scott and Brady are obviously professionals in what they do. In every area.
Titan make numerous cock-ups. I remember trying to send an e-mail to the Green Arrow title. It bounced back. Their "next issue on sale" dates were often wrong in recent months. And you'll only find out a title is cancelled once you no longer find it. They seriously need a Twitter account or an updated website to let PAYING CUSTOMERS/READERS know what is happening! Your Batman example is just the tip of the iceberg.
Titan, I beg ya, give up the DC CE licence! Stick to trade paperbacks and magazines (provided you can get the next issue of Star Trek Magazine out). Let Panini Comics or someone else have the DC licence. You are incapable!

The only perk is that the main story in Batman is only a month behind the US, which is really fast for a CE.

I think its disappointing that the Arrow and Supergirl CEs where cancelled - feels like they where not really given a chance to establish themselves.
Perhaps it would have been better if they had gone with a single "Arrowverse" CE (featuring the Flash, Green Arrow and possibly Supergirl even though she isn't technically part of the Arrowverse) rather then give each one their own CE. It would have given it more of a chance to establish itself, they could have focused on marketing the single CE, etc.
Also agree with the comments that Titan need to communicate better with readers, and be honest when a title is being cancelled.

It's the lack of communication that is pissing people off, certainly on the Facebook threads I read. It does not paint Titan in a good light at all.
Panini update their websites, communicate via letters pages, etc. If, Heaven forbid, one of the long-running CEs were going to be cancelled, you can bet your bottom dollar that Panini would announce it in another title's letters page. The editor would let you know if an issue was going to be delayed. If poor sales were to force a Panini title to go bi-monthly, we'd find out via the website, the editor's introduction or the letters page.
We don't get that with Titan. Everything is an afterthought with their CEs. You waste time parking your car up near the nearest WHSmith, walk in and discover that the Titan CE you thought would be on sale on a particular date isn't there. So you wait. And wait some more. You check the website in the hope they may have updated it. You pick up another Titan CE in the hope the editor might announce why a certain issue is delayed - or to have the courtesy to let you know a title has been cancelled.
Everything is second-guessing with them. And they don't communicate in other ways. You ask them things on their Facebook page, or via e-mail to their offices, and you receive nothing back. I mean, are they going to even explain the six-month delay between issues of Star Trek Magazine (I believe the current one is out this week, but the issue prior to that was in October 2015)?
Poor and shoddy, I'm afraid. Someone defended the lack of communication over CEs by saying that they have to put out a lot of CEs. Lots of businesses are busy. Panini puts out a lot of CEs - and certainly at one point, maybe even now, one of the editors was also editing the graphic novel line. It just strikes me as a poor business model, lacking in any sort of communication. The only time you really see Facebook posts from Titan is when they are selling something, it's not the most regular social media feed from them. A simple "Sorry, the Supergirl CE has been cancelled" comment in one of their many Batman titles would surely suffice?
I guess part of the reason for my frustration is historical. I remember the days (1988-1994) when London Editions Magazines/Fleetway put out DC titles for a UK audience. Plenty of communication there - and much "cross-pollination" of information, i.e. informing you of new titles, cancellations, etc. There was no second-guessing at all.
Titan shall get no more of my business as far as CEs go. Their attitude towards readers of CEs - and now Star Trek Magazine - are woeful. And I, for one, am fed up with parking my car, paying parking fees and checking WHSmith only to later find out a title has been cancelled or an issue has been delayed.

Sorry for all the negativity, folks, but having grown up with Egmont/London Editions Magazines/Fleetway, and Panini's short-lived Batman Legends, it pains me to see DC given such shoddy treatment in the UK. When Panini started up their Batman title, there hadn't been a DC UK comic on the shelves for at least 8-10 years. It concerns me that Titan's woeful attitude will lead to the titles failing - and then it could be years before we see a regular presence for DC on UK shelves. So my rants are because I care, it isn't just about the inconvenience of car parks and having to guess when a title will be on the shelves.
I don't suppose Titan will give up or lose the licence. Even if they did, I suspect Panini would not be interested in re-acquiring it. I just know we deserve better.
Does anyone know the story behind Titan getting the CE licence? I suspect they wanted it because they had the licence for other DC products. Well, maybe it's too much for them to handle and they should stick to trade paperbacks and other stuff. Perhaps they could "farm out" CEs to someone who knows how to be timely and communicative.
