I don't know what to think at the moment.
I'm excited but worried just that little bit, though I doubt the film will resemble the book much at all.
But this is our Avengers 2 title and first real idea of the plot. Things are going to be crazy.

Kneejerk reaction was NOOOO.
But adapting the event would be a) almost completely impossible, and b) a waste of time.
At least now we can hopefully put the (boring) event behind us, and focus on this (almost certainly awesome) film whenever we mention Age of Ultron now.

Doubt I'll go to see it tbh. I found the first film a bit boring (way too much standing around talking, the villains were bland except loki) but the last 30 minutes of it redeemed it as they were awesome. However, I find Ultron boring especially if they are incorporating Age of Dulltron. I was hoping for Thanos.

I'm surprised Thanos in't the villain, as it appears he won't be the GotG villain either. If done correctly, Ultron is superb (Busiek and Perez in particular).
It can be linked to the comic in name only, as there's no way it can be an adaptation.
I wonder if Hank Pym will be introduced here (given his importance in Ultron's origin) so he's in the public consciousness before his own film.

I imagine the only relation to the arc might be Ultron taking over parts of the world or at least doing something threatening with technology. You can't just have Ultron be the bad guy and have a large, looming title beginning with 'Age of'. We're going nowhere near the time travel, something Feige stated before the Marvel Studios Panel.

First we found out that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are in it, now presumable Ant-Man and the villain is Ultron. Very exciting, especially with Joss returning to write/direct. Thanos will probably have some kind of presence but not be a major villain until Avengers 3 from the sounds of things which should hopefully work out perfectly... and HUGE!

I read that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would be in the next X-men film as well. Are they related or is it just coincidence?

Quicksilver will be, Scarlet Witch won't. Just a coincidence, they'll be played by different actors.

Quicksilver will be, Scarlet Witch won't. Just a coincidence, they'll be played by different actors. This is kind of weird, within one year we will see the same character twice in two different franchises played by two different actors.

Apparently Ant-Man, Hank Pym, won't be involved in Avengers 2.... or the creation of Ultron... What? Are they gonna have Tony create Ultron instead?

Looks that way, there's a few articles about it on IGN and CBR. I'm fed up of Marvel butchering the source material especially after Iron-Man 3.

I am concerned about such a major thing like the creator of Ultron being changed, but until we really know who its changed to i'm gonna reserve final judgement. Incidently I thought Iron Man 3 was great, especially the major character change in that. If everything they did in the mother was exactly the same as the source material then it'd be too predictable and boring.

I've noticed a lot of people online moaning about Quicksilver and Wanda joining the Avengers 'before' Pym and yet they have no problem with Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye joining before him.
I'm glad it's not based on the comic (which I thought was obvious, why did people assume it would be? Doesn't make any sense.) becuase the comic was digustingly poor.
I'm interested in how they will portray the SCarlet Witch's powers becuase, even the comics, they've never been clearly defined. I hope they make Quicksilver super arogant like he is in the comics.
Iron Man making Ultron? Yeah, makes sense. Why intriduce yet another scientist whose only role is to create the villain? If Tony does it, it has much more emotional impact than if a, in regards to the film, unknown does it. You can play on the fact that the team feels betrayed and that Tony, who we've got to know over 4 previous films, has really fucked up.
