Last week the first issue of Infinity hit the shelves; Marvel's big event that seemingly spans the cosmos. WHat did you think to the opening shot?
It may shock some of you who think I'm a narrow minded Marvel-hater these days, but I'm not. I give any comic I read a fair chance and, in the case of Infinity #1, I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect but it has beautiful art, a decent enough story and a clever twist at the end. I liked it. I did. My only concern is what it'll be tying into. But we'll see how it goes and I'll keep an open mind.
I give Infinity #1 7.5/10.
What did you think?

I thought the first issue was great. Very much a set-up issue, but set everything in motion nicely, highlighted both of the big threats and began to move everyone forward already. I've been looking forward to this for a while now, so I'm hopeful.

I found the first issue of Infinity a bit dull, and it was over-crowded with new characters so there wasn't much time to flesh them out. I'm sure it will pick up though. I really enjoyed Avengers #18 though.

I've yet to buy any Infinity so I'm for once counting on internet spoilers to tell me of anything important before I get any tie-ins.

Avengers #18 was enjoyable but New Avengers #9 was absolutely pointless.

I found New Avengers great, personally.
Captain Marvel however felt very redundant up until the last few pages - not only does it cover the same ground as Avengers Assemble and Avengers (albeit with slightly different narration since it's from Captain Marvel's perspective) but the cover spoils the only really exciting thing to take place in the issue.

Issue 2 of infinity was enjoyable. Go Gladiator! Aw Yeah!

Definitely. I love the double threat of the Builders and Thanos, and the ending was intriguing, especially considering the events of Thanos Rising.

I enjoyed #2 a lot more than #1. That was expected though as #1 was all set-up and #2 shows what's at stake. Interesting so far, even if I think Marvel have spoiled a lot of it by revealing the mini-event which follows it.

I've now read 1-2 and cant say much more than meh. I've also read The Hunt #1 which started as a very average if a little dull comic... the end just seemed like shock factor with no relevance to anything I'm aware of.

Of course you'd say meh. I've found all of the main Infinity titles great so far. I also picked up The Hunt, and it was basically one long exposition sequence, which wasn't great. The end references the events of New Avengers #9, where Proxima Midnight and Thanos' forces decimate Atlantis.

OH! Not having read NA I didnt know that had happened elsewhere and thought it was just a really bad way to end The Hunt #1

Just read issue Infinity #3 and the latest NA tie-in and my enjoyment is waning. Is it just me or is the story getting a little slow? Also: why as no one thought to attack Thanos' ship?!

Nobody has posted about this in ages, so figured I'd bump it. I found the first few issues a bit slow, but now that the pieces are all falling into place, I'm really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to seeing how this ends.

I'm going the other way, marvelfan013. I thought it started off well but now it's really beginning to drag. It just seems like: fight, fight, talk about fighting, fight some more, oh let's go back to Earth and fight. Yawn!
