Has anyone read or seen the news about the reveal at the end of Captain America: Steve Rogers?
The issue ends with Captain America being revealed to have been a Hydra agent, causing a massive backlash on social media.
While I do think this reveal goes against the character (and a bad idea if a permanent status quo change), I think people should wait and see how the current storyline concludes. For a start, I don't think Disney and the Marvel movie bosses would allow this change to be permanent!
My theories are: 1) It's actually the 50s Captain America (I think he was last seen in Ed Brubaker's run, and is a bit more extreme, and more importantly believes himself to be Steve Rogers) 2) He's a double agent, or its some cosmic cube trickery.
What did everyone else think of this reveal?

Whilst it came out of nowhere, I have to believe there's a plan.
I often wonder how different comics would have been if social media had been around decades ago (and the internet). Would the debut of the Silver Age Green Lantern have been met with replies such as, "How dare they trample on the legacy of Alan Scott?" Would Batman writers have been crucified for revealing that supervillain the Outsider was (SPOILERS AHEAD)...Alfred the Butler?
Some of the vitriol has surprised me. Such fans have always existed, I'm sure, but decades ago they'd have had to have put pen to paper, found a stamp, posted an envelope, etc. Now, with the "hit Enter" option on a keyboard, they can send their vitriol in a nanosecond.
I seriously doubt this is a permanent status quo change. I'm willing to see where they go with it, just like I've been willing in the past to go with other things.

I agree stephenparry. Alfred the Butler being a villain sounds intriguing, I'm going to have to look that up! I don't think its a permanent change either (just as Superior Spider-man, Superior Iron Man, etc. where not permanent changes), besides I think Marvel/Disney bosses would not allow it to be a permanent status quo change anyway.
