It does seem a tad unnecessary, but Snyder does seem to know what he's doing. Hoping that this decent.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little wary. But given how solid all of Snyder's work on Batman, both Dick and Bruce, has been, I'm well prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
That Zero Year poster/cover reminds me of the 90s cartoon too.

I'm really finding it hard to get excited about an 11 issue origin story but Snyder hasn't messed up yet so I'll give it a chance.

Hasn't messed up? Maybe, but the finale to DotF was pretty weak. Could this be the beginning of the end for great Snyder stories...?

You thought the finale for DotF was weak? I really enjoyed it lol.
You aren't one of those people who bitched about there not being a death in DotF, then cried when Damian was killed off over in Batman Incorporated, are you? >.<

No, not at all. I actually didn't want any of them to die and was glad they didn't, I just thought the whole thing was anti-climatic. It didn't explain why he did what he did, there was no meat to it. And this idea that the Joker could say something to them all to split them all up is rediculous. I'm not saying it was a bad comic, but with all the build up it should have been a lot better.
On the subject of Damian. I am annoyed he died in a third rate, unimportant, badly written, poorly drawn, non-sensical, shit comic such as Batman Inc. But I'm also mad that he died at all because he's a brilliant character.

Why Zero Year and not Year Zero? Would have been a much more fitting title.

Why Zero Year and not Year Zero? Would have been a much more fitting title. Best guess: To make it not such a similar title to Year One? Considering both stories have similar premises.

I think partly what Ada says but also because it fits in nicely with DC's "Zero Month" which is where the story started (Batman #0 was a prelude for this storyline).
