The Marvel CEs will now be £4.99 as of their January issues. On the Facebook page they claim the increase was inevitable, although they only changed it to £4.50 last year. It's literally cheaper now to buy any stories you want in TPBs than to keep up with the CEs. Between Titan losing the DC License and now this price increase, it's an awful start to 2019 for Collectors' Editions!

I was thinking that too marvelfan2013 - the price increase is disappointing, especially since its the third price increase in just over 2 years. Will still get the CE's for now, although if there is another increase I will be rethinking things. Wonder if the £4.99 price will put off casual readers who see it in the shops and pick it up (perhaps because they liked a recent movie, etc.). I agree not a good start for the CEs!

I've switched to TPBs as it's cheaper for me to follow specific stories that way. I agree that the prices will deter a lot of potential new fans from trying them out which is sad.

Again!? I guess it's something they can't avoid but that is incredibly pricey. Better value than collecting US singles but still steep. I moved to Marvel Unlimited last year and haven't looked back but know that if I was still collecting them, this word have been the straw that would break the camel's back. To collect all 7 CE's is going to cost you £40 a month which is a helluva lot of money.
