So... what did you think of Saturday's series final? I loved seeing all the old Doctors, particularly the 1st Doctor leaving Gallifrey, and liked how they managed to edit footage of all the old Doctor's (even if the results where varying). The Whispermen (who look very similar to the Trickster in Sarah Jane Adventures) seemed very similar to the Silence from the previous series. Great Intelligence is a great villain, and somewhat underused, and I hope we haven't seen the last of him. Not sure what to make of the ending, but it sets things up nicely for November, which I'm looking forward to! How about everyone else, what did you think of the final?

Excellent. I've seen it twice now and both times it's been amazing.

Really enjoyed it, definitely the best episode of this series. The Clara reveal actually made a lot of sense and the ending was very intriguing. Looking forward to the 50th anniversary special. 9/10 (it loses a point for some of the CGI being ropey and the fact they didn't actually reveal the doctor's name.)

Indeed, it was the best episode this year. I was squeeing everywhere at the previous doctors hehe. The effects could have been done better, and similar stuff has been done better by amateurs on youtube lol. I'm glad they didn't reveal his name, it would ruin the name of the show because we'd know Who, and also... is there any name they could come up with that would be a disappointment after all the build up?

Would have to agree with the consensus. One of the stronger episodes of the seasons and definitely left us interested for the Anniversary later this year. No idea how it's all going to play out but I've learnt never to second guess Moffat so I won't even theorize.

@ Soullessminion - I agree that the doctor's "true" name should not be revealed, but at the same time, the advertising for the episode made it seem like it would be revealed,so for it to then not happen was a bit of an anti-climax (luckily the episode more than made up for it.) I blame the misleading title of the episode and the advertising more than the episode itself. It probably should've been called something like "The Doctor's Secret" instead.

I suppose there's the line about what the John Hurt character did not being 'in the name of the Doctor', which sorta makes the title make sense, but yes, the advertizing was at fault, and actually revealing the Doctor's name would be a bad idea.

The advertising was not at fault, but people's misinterpretation of its meaning.
And you're crazy if you think they'll EVER reveal his name. Moffat has already said it'll never happen under his watch and I don't think any future showrunner would risk their reputation or the ire of fans by even attempting to come up with a name.

This episode was utter garbage. Pointless, inconsisatant and, worst of all, boring.

The advertising was not at fault, but people's misinterpretation of its meaning. I think that's a little unfair, as the trailers kept saying the Doctors greatest secret would be revealed and a lot of focus on his past. With an episode called The Name of the Doctor, they wanted you to think it might be revealed. People may have jumped to conclusions but they were led directly to the jumping spot.

soullessminion - I didn't actually think they would reveal a name for the doctor, but I was very curious how they'd answer that question in the episode which they didn't really.I still really enjoyed the episode though, and it's fun to debate these topics.
