Surprised that we didn't have a topic for this. The first episode has now aired in both the US and the UK, so what did everyone think?

I liked it! Some nice nods to both the movies and comics, and I liked the bit with the flying car at the end! :-)

Really enjoyed it, can't wait for the next ep. Got a strong feeling that Skye was written for Eliza Dushku

Started off ok, but I found it slow-paced and generally boring (had the same issue with the Avengers film.) I'll give it another episode to impress me though.

Waste of time, very boring and none of Whedon's usual flare and humour. This was a huge dissapointment because I'd been really looking forward to it.

I think it was a decent opener, if not the best of Whedon by far. I think it can only go upwards from here as we get a chance to learn more about the characters.
As Alex said to me on Skype last night, as long as we get to a bigger story rather than villain of the week stuff I can see it getting better and better.

Agree with AJ, I've watched it twice and both times I enjoyed but wasn't blown over by it. If this wasn't a Marvel series I don't know if I'd continue watching. However, I'm intrigued by Coulsons return and I think as the show progresses, it'll get better so I'm willing to stick with it.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't brilliant, mainly due to being a setup episode, but the potential is great. It was somewhat spoiled by the trailers showing all the good jokes (which were nevertheless funny).

I thought it was pretty good. As an opener, I enjoyed it, even through it did get a bit preachy at times. Had to agree with what I read on the internet through as it does indeed feel like Heroes reversed. But all in all, a solid opener. It could have been better, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. I laughed at most of the jokes (especially the one where Coulson walked in the room) and thought the characters were well written. Whether it's a villain of the week or not, I don't know. I guess we could see something like Doctor Who where we get a bunch of seemly unconnected stories that lead into a huge story arc. I'm kinda hoping for that. But yeah, it was good. By the way, am I the only one who got a Torchwood vibe from it?

I really enjoyed it. Solid action, eclectic cast, and some interesting mysteries so far. My parents also enjoyed it, especially my mum, and even my sister who hadn't planned on watching it because she said the trailer looked shit ended up watching and liking it.

I found ever character either boring, or boring and dislikable.

I caved and watched the second episode online but I thought it was better than the first. There's a great group dynamic between them all and while not everyone's character is realised yet, or quite fleshed out, it made me start to care a bit more for them and I can see myself wanting to tune in to see these characters each week.

I thought the first episode was better than the second, both were pretty descent. I kind of felt Nick Fury's rule was just slapped together at the last minute through (still, I got a chuckle out of it).

Liked the second episode, especially Nick Fury's cameo at the end.

Didn't enjoy Episode 3 as much. Still enjoyable but didn't really click for me. Gravity affecting situations bug me because you can't just have a room turn upside and keeping everything else at the same level without damaging the building. Pet peeve there.
